Bella cheated on Edward!

I know, I know, I'm late to the party on blogging about the tacky, stupid behavior of Kristen Stewart.

I will call her tacky because it's just ridiculously embarrassing the way she cavorted with a much older, married man with a family. Just, wow.

And I call her stupid because, um, she was shacking up with Rob Pattinson, man-fodder of so many female fantasies. She HAD that, you know? So, yeah, stupid.

I won't call her a slut though, as many others have described her, because I believe in free will, man. She did what she did. It was stupid and tacky sure, but sluttiness is not a label I wish to brand someone with.

May her punishment be waking up to the truth of just how horribly she screwed up. She done peed in her chili.

If this were the world of Twilight though, her punishment might be a little harsher. Pre-Breaking Dawn punishment might go something like this:

*smootch* *smootch*

"Bella?" Edward says her name as a question.

Bella disentangles her limps and her tongue from a much older human man. "Edward! Oh, I didn't see you there. Um, this is Rupert. He is a friend of Charlie's. I was helping him ... with a contact lens. Move along, nothing to see here."

Edward stalks closer. "I call bullshit." Edward reads Rupert's mind. "Yeah, I thought so."

Edward drains Bella and Rupert like a couple of blood flavored Caprisuns.

The Weather in Forks, WA

We here in Southeast Ohio are smack dab in the middle of an abysmal winter wonderland. As I checked the upcoming weather conditions for our area yet again, I wondered what the weather was doing in good old Forks, Washington.

I know I shouldn't have been surprised, but I was a little, just for a second. Then I laughed. Forks really does sound like my idea of Heaven. 100% chance of rain?! Who gets that lucky? Love it.

If Bella, Edward and Jacob were real, I don't know what they'd be doing right now. But whatever it is, I bet it would be indoors.

First Official Eclipse Poster

Direct from The World of Twilight - Official Site. I'm so excited. This poster is the harbinger of delicious love-triangle-y things to come. I know I'll just about faint during the mountain tent scene and then for the big, wet, you-know-what between Jacob and Bella that comes after it! Seriously folks, I hope that director David Slade really draws out that scene. I mean, it can last an hour all by its self. That would be totally okay to me. Because I'm going to be in - straight up, no holds barred - ecstasy! I just hope I'll be able to control myself enough to keep from melting out of the theater seat and writhing around on the floor!

I can't wait to see how Slade handles the banter that goes on between Edward and Jacob in the tent. The audience will most certainly have to have access to Jacob's thoughts to make it enjoyable and understandable. Otherwise it'll just seem like Edward is grumpily talking to himself.

Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!

I had a minute today to wax philosophical...

Since I first saw previews for Twilight something has been nagging at me. I couldn't put my finger on it but I've figured it out. I totally love the look of Rob as Edward. I'm okay with that. And generally speaking, he's a fairly good Edward. And Kristen is um... okay looking as Bella (although this person more closely matches my idea of Bella) and we know I've had issues with Kristen's actual portrayal of how Bella would act/react/move/speak/blink (lol) BUT, my issue is that I never bought into the hype that the chemistry between Rob and Kristen onscreen was so great. I never saw it. I still don't. In my opinion, there isn't that much heat between them. And what's more, there doesn't seem to be any conviction behind what they say to each other. I don't believe them, I suppose is what I'm getting at. They said all the right words at the right times, seemed to understand the import of the words behind the dialog. And yet, there's more to just 'saying' them. I know they are only actors, and not Edward and Bella, but I know there are actors out there somewhere who could have made me yearn, ache and empathize with their plight to be together against all odds. I wanted so badly to feel it. I needed to know that Bella felt she would burst if Edward didn't lean in and kiss her. I wanted my heart beat to quicken when Edward's growing hunger forced him to expel Bella from him ...before he did something he'd regret. I never once got the right feelings while watching B&E interact onscreen. I couldn't tell that it was the end of the world for Bella being separated from Edward for even one day. I know I should have felt that way because that's exactly how I felt when I read the books. I yearned for his return right along with her. I hated the times Bella showed up at school and found that Edward and the rest of the Cullen's weren't there. It depressed me when she'd go home to her room and he wasn't there. When he leaned in for the first time, just to 'try one thing' I thought I'd go mad with want!

I'll admit, the Edward conjured up in our own minds based on the words crafted by Stephenie is a hard act to follow. Same with the addictive, incendiary love and lust between Edward and Bella. There is a perfection of angsty love on those pages that would be near impossible to duplicate. But still, I feel a little slighted that Rob and Kristen didn't come closer. I think there was so much worry about the technicality of getting it right, they over thought it. They being not just the actors, but all involved: director, writers, lighting guy, lol. I think everyone believed that the onscreen Edward and Bella had to embody what made us all fall in love with them in the first place, so much so that they focused on pursuing that perfection and lost what should have felt easy: the natural, undeniable, immediate attraction between the two.

I never once felt watching either movie that these are two people who want more than anything to be together, that they'd rather die than live without each other or that their attraction was so demanding that they had to be touching at all times, that Bella would risk her own death over and over to keep trying to be with him or that Edward would subject himself to constant, torturous pain just to be with her.

I know those are hard things to convey onscreen. But the heart wants what the heart wants. And I know it's not impossible because someone else did it. Taylor Lautner. He made me believe him. He was subtlety heartbroken over and over by Bella's unintentional rejections. His unrequited love was so... delicious. I bought him hook, line and sinker. As Jacob, he became the boy whose sunny disposition wouldn't let him be defeated. He wore his heart on his sleeve valiantly and was the eternal, beautiful best friend. I found him irresistible. Some of you may scoff and accuse me of reacting to his (stunningly) transformed body from that of a boy to a man and while I cannot deny that his physical presence was noteworthy, it's not what I'm proud of here. I'm proud of the fact that Taylor was willing to gruelingly work out to change himself completely. He's committed to being Jacob and it shows, and not just physically. In the last scene of New Moon, when Jacob whispers "Bella", I felt it. In that one word, I knew that he was putting himself out there and not caring who saw (Edward), pleading with her, but still knowing he had lost (the battle but not the war) and was subsequently broken.

My little gripes about things should by no means be considered as admission of any sort of dislike for any of the Twilight movies. I just pointed out something that needles at me. I applaud Rob and Kristen for taking on two of the most beloved characters of the last decade. And here's hoping that next time, they'll get a little closer to that sweet tortured love that haunts my fantasies.

Skybar Twilight Candy Bars

I was in Wal-Mart yesterday and guess what I saw? Skybar jumped on the Twilight Saga money train!

I didn't buy any, but they were reasonably priced @ $1.00 a piece.

Would be a great addition to the avid Twilight merchandise collector.

New Moon: Edward Poster, Jacob Poster

Both posters are very cool. As with the case of those two handsome characters, I don't have a preference.

And here's one I'll give you for no particular reason. Except because Edward looks yummy and I've never seen this picture before. Of course I understand if you vamp starved Twi-Hards have!

And here's this one because, well, I've been lovin' (my) Jacob Black since I first laid eyes on him (well, his literary description) and I have dreamt of the sweet tension between him and Bella for a long time.

New Moon Trailer #3

Here's another clip.

OMG, Edward, toward the end of the clip, taking off his shirt while walking into the light. Holy shnikeys! That right there is the stuff of legend and little girl fantasy.

Whew!

Howdy Fellow Twilighters!

Hi all! It's me! And not the narrative me that you've grown accustomed to over that past couple of months, ;)

I hope you are enjoying my story of Kate and David. The end of this lovely duo's journey is nearing! I had to break formation though and speak to you as a fellow Twi-Hard. If you've visited His Amber Eyes recently, you'll notice the countdown to the New Moon premiere in the right hand nav. Only 69 days left to go!!!

As the premiere nears, my story will wrap up and you'll see more posts regarding New Moon details and specifics - cast interviews, on set photos, video clips, trailers! Got to get the masses amped!!!! I feel it already, don't you?? What a wonderfully enticing year this has been so far, counting down to the end of our wait. I can tell you that I think New Moon is going to be ridiculously great!! We'll have to go see it twice as many times as we saw Twilight (right, Peggy? ;))

I know that I'll be torn between who I love best - Edward or Jacob. Just like when reading the book. You can tell from the newest video clips that the heat between Bella and Jacob.. AND Bella and Edward is going to be white hot!

So on to the real reason for this post: VIDEO FOOTAGE FROM NEW MOON! Yay!!!!

I, of course, have viewed it already and all I can tell you is I CAN NOT WAIT . . . !

Enjoy, friends :)

Get Your Hands On Edward!

Okay Twilighters, here's your chance to get your feverish little mitts on Edward. He's tangible, 3-D, smooth skinned and oh so cool! He doesn't even breathe! In theory he's exactly what we've all dreamed of, our very own Edward to own; to keep locked up in our bedroom and brought out whenever we want!

Unfortunately, this Edward is only 17 inches tall. The Edward doll by Robert Tonner is super neat but slightly outdone by the Bella doll who has a more realistic, interesting face. Tonner says more Twilight character dolls are to come.

I can't wait to see how the Jasper and Emmett dolls turn out. I'd like for Emmett to look like he was explained in the book, all boyish with springy brown curly hair!

In an interview with the Insider, Robert Tonner said "I'm having such a blast reading the books and getting to know all of the characters. I'm also reviewing movie stills, sculpting and designing. I'm completely immersed in their world."

Completely immersed in their world? Join the club, Robert.

Top 10 Ways to Pass Time Until New Moon Comes Out

I know we've hit a dry spell as far as all things Twilight. So allow me to present to you some Twilight inspired ways to fill your time:

1. While away the hours with The Twilight Board Game available at amazon.com or many other fine retailers for a measly sum.

2. Delve into the wonderful world of Forks, Edward, Bella and the rest of the gang by indulging in a little fan fiction! Read someone else's fantasies come to life or better yet, create your own!

3. Channel your favorite Twilight character long enough to fill out a personality test. The results might startle you! Go on, make Carl Jung proud!

4. Create a local Twilight book club where you can connect with other Twi-hards! You can discuss at great lengths how Edward could stand to be around Bella during her 'monthlies' (come on, you know you've wondered it!), how Charlie could possibly not want to know why things got really weird after Bella and Edward's honeymoon or why Edward's saliva didn't poison Bella during those steamy kisses.

5. Go to Joann's Fabrics and thumb through the catalogs for Halloween costumes, find elaborate patterns that most fit your vision of how the Volturi dress, and then MAKE them!

6. Try your hand at art. Sketch one of the Twilight characters and post it on a fan site. Or bake a Twilight themed cake.

7. Pick out something from the Twilight saga and find out as much about it as you can. Examples: Forks, Washington, Quileute Indians, the Spanish Influenza pandemic... You get the picture!

8. Have a Twilight pajama party. Invite your friends over for popcorn, tunes and fun (you could play your official Twilight board game) and then play Twilight at the stroke of midnight!

9. Explore alternative vampire movies (yes, there were vampire movies BEFORE Twilight...) Familiarize yourself with other myths. Some recommendations are: Fright Night (I & II), Underworld (1 - 3), Innocent Blood, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Lost Boys... OR if you really want to bring the fear watch 30 Days of Night and Salem's Lot!

10. If you are the biggest, most daring Twilight fan in the whole universe, you may consider this one. Get a Twilight tattoo! Just be 100% SURE that is what you want to do. And if you've decided that your love for the big "E" is so pure and unparalleled that the only way to truly express it is by PERMANENTLY marring your tender Twilighter hyde, then have at it! Don't forget to upload pics of your tat to share with other diehard Twi-Hards!!

Have a GREAT holiday weekend, my little Twilighters!

Does Rob & Kristen's Kiss Fake Out Suggest Real Life Hanky Panky??

Here's a shot of Rob and Kristen teasing the audience as they accept the MTV award for Best Kiss. Rob and Kristen have stated before that they are just friends. Was the playful flirting really put on for our benefit then?

I wouldn't normally give it a second thought, but I stumbled across this article that suggests there is more going on between these two than they let on.

They are still denying any love connection. And to them I have to point out some pretty damning evidence to the contrary (assuming the article is true and not just hearsay):

1. Rob and Kristen went out to eat after the MTV awards ceremony and held hands throughout dinner. Ah... yeah. I always hold hands with my coworkers at dinner.

2. Kristen's boyfriend of 4 years actor Michael Arangano has been seen less and less but she swears things are still hunky dorey. Makes sense. Because no actors ever dump there steady dates and start seeing their current costars after becoming uber famous.

3. And I give you the final exhibit: The article states that Rob has been obsessed with Kristen for quite some time. Let me just add this: Of course it's plausible that any girl with a pulse would give the physical personification of EDWARD CULLEN the brush off. Sure. Right.

In summation, it is highly likely that the evidence presented before you negates any attempts on the parts of one Robert Pattinson and one Kristen Stewart to convince this audience that no hanky panky is going on.

And to that I say...

LUCKY GIRL!

I saved the best one for last. It's Jacob. Shirtless. Wet. In the rain.

'Nuff said.

Now, on a lighter note...

Sorry to be such a downer on that last post.

And so, here I present to you undeniable proof of why New Moon will be wonderful:

I mean, just look at Edward's hair! Is it natural or fair that hair like that should exist?!

Let alone that jawline. That right there is proof of Heaven. Am I wrong, Twilighters? I don't think so.

And don't get me started on his eyelashes! See how long they look, even in this picture? Imagine what they'd look like if they were looming over you, as he closed the distance between you and he with a kiss.

Think on that for a while.

Okay, about that New Moon Trailer...

Alright, Twilighters, help me out here. I want soooo much to love this movie. I plan on loving it even if I have to totally ignore the analytical and logical part of my brain. But for now, I'm going to go to the truth zone and give you the 411 on that New Moon trailer.

First off, I'm going to tell you what was awesome about it, starting with the very best thing.

1. Edi Gathegi as Laurent was the only 100% believable thing about the clip. His accent, eyes, mannerisms and ACTING were spot on. He was truly menacing, but graceful about it. Too bad we all know he won't be in New Moon for long.

2. Edward's face. Edward's face was beautiful, as always. Although he looked a little constipated. I understand that he's conflicted and all that, but anguish looks different than mopey melancholy.

3. Taylor Lautner's bare chest. Honestly, you know you've been waiting for it. And it's definitely worth the wait. I think Jacob running around half naked is one of the movie's most guarded secrets. It's been really hard to find set photos of Taylor Lautner, let alone any of him showing skin.

Other than those three things, I'm not too impressed with the trailer. (Don't pummel me with rotten fruit! 'Truth Zone' people!) It seemed kind of silly. Maybe it's the trailer editor's fault that the trailer was less than stellar. Everyone in the clip seemed too serious. This is a teen romance, people. It looks so painful being in love with the most beautiful man in the world!

I know that Bella and Edward are frequently tormented, but I just never got the idea that all the dialog would be spoken in such a dramatically hopeless way. When Bella asked Edward to kiss her for her birthday, I imagined she'd ask with cautious abandon, all breathless and fearful. In general, every one's lines were maudlin, even thought it would have been way more appropriate if they would've been delivered with intensity. Like when Bella said she had a paper cut. True, paper cuts suck, but they don't make you all serious-faced and introspective. After all, it is just a paper cut.

And lastly, let me address the Jacob/werewolf morph scene. It started out good. I LOVED when Jacob took off running and morphed mid-jump. Super cool. But, the sound that happened at the point of change was sort of comical and THEN the site of that big 'enchanted forest' looking puppy was enough to elicit a giggle from this Twilighter. He sure wasn't scary! He should've been scary because he was scary in the book until Bella got to know him.

Maybe the lackluster trailer isn't an accurate example of how the whole movie will be. And even if it is, we as dutiful fans will just have to use our imaginations.

FINALLY - New Moon Set Photos!

Hi fellow Twilighters! I'm ecstatic to be bringing you new movie photos of Edward and Bella in Italy during shooting of the clock tower scene.

I'm almost speechless. I cannot comprehend how beautiful Rob is in these photos. He looks like the cover model for Vampire GQ. He's breaking my heart already. I can't anticipate this movie more!!

About that kiss...

Okay, I've been done with the saga for a while and I mull over favorite parts in my head from time to time. Invariably, my mind wanders back to the most erotic, innocent (YES, a kiss can be both. Actually if a kiss truly is one, it'll probably also be the other), engrossing, consuming gesture of pent up sexual frustration and hope ever. And that kiss is...

...the Jacob and Bella kiss in the mountains. (author waits as the incredulous murmur dies down). That's right, scoff if you like. But to me that kiss alone blows away any other kiss in the whole saga. It's more powerful than all the best Edward and Bella kisses put together. And believe me, I'm a big fan of the Edward and Bella kisses.

The tension builds throughout Eclipse, but we readers are unwitting to the need for some release, only to become aware of it when the moment is thrust upon us. The extent to which Jacobs presence becomes undeniable to Bella both physically and on a more visceral level is palpable. I think that kiss was the defining moment for me. That one scene sealed my fervent crush for the over-grown wolf boy. I really liked him before that but became hopelessly gaga after. That's the moment that solidified Jacob Black as perfect day dream fodder.

Talk about being tested! I wish I had Bella's problems.
